Great Lakes Consort

Grab your traveling companion and join the Great Lakes Consort for a tour across Europe at the turn of the 18th Century.

Venetian concertNo passport is needed to enjoy this lively concert featuring trumpet, oboes, cello and harpsichord. We will take you on a trip through France, Belgium, Italy, England and Germany, bringing you a variety of music of the era and sharing fascinating stories about the careers and inspirations of the composers.

Well-known works and rarely heard gems of the early 1700s will be performed by the Great Lakes Consort Baroque Ensemble:

  • Lynne Marie Flegg and Kristin Reynolds, oboes
  • Mark Flegg, trumpet
  • Nadine Deleury, cello
  • Angelina Pashmakova, harpsichord

Featured pieces on this program include:

  • the Rondeau by Jean-Joseph Mouret, a work made famous as the theme to “Masterpiece Theater”
  • Tomaso Albinoni’s Concerto a Cinque, Opus 9 No. 9 for Two Oboes and Continuo
  • Suites for Unaccompanied Cello by J.S. Bach
  • Oboe Duets written by Jean Baptiste Loeillet de Gant
  • Henry Purcell’s Sonata in D for Trumpet and Continuo
  • the beautiful Oboe Sonata in e Minor by Francesco Geminiani
  • an exciting Concerto for Trumpet, Two Oboes and Continuo by Georg Phillipp Telemann
